The rigid aluminium Hagane Body of the SpeedMaster II is remarkably compact for easy handling, especially in the smaller sizes, and prevents any misalignment of the internal moving parts. It also has Shimanos high performance E.I. surface treatment to protect against corrosion. Internally the stainless steel gearing is supported by 4 Shielded S A-RB Bearings, which resist corrosion and ensure smooth performance, even at the highest speeds or under extreme pressure. The powerful drag is operated by the easy to operate drag leaver, which ratchets securely in place and as an extra bonus a spare drag lever, which produces a less aggressive drag curve for optimal use with monofilament lines, when fishing for pelagic species, is also included.
